Tonight the Little Miss asked if she could put her school supplies in her backpack. School doesn’t start tomorrow. It starts Monday but that’s just how excited she is to start school use her new school supplies.
Back to school time is always a little bittersweet for me. It’s another opportunity for me to reflect on how fast my Little Miss has grown. Seems like the last day of school was just yesterday.

{1st day of Kindergarten}

{1st day of First Grade}
A part of me wishes that I could stop time and keep her little but that’s not how God intended things to be and my little ray of sunshine is meant to grow. But this is also an exciting time as my little miss is reaching another milestone is her life – second grade! The two of us are always filled with anticipation that first day. For me, the day is spent daydreaming of what her first day is like and the evening is spent listening to all of her first day of school stories. For her the day is spent having reunions and sharing summer vacation stories with friends and getting to know her new teacher and exploring her new classroom.
I am already mentally preparing myself as it sort of feels like I’m going back to school too. We will be reviewing homework daily, being more consistent with our daily reading and bedtime stories (and earlier bedtime!) and of course – school projects! Fortunately the Mr. is an excellent homework checker, the Little Miss loves reading to us and I’ve got years of experience doing school projects!
As we get closer to the big day I am reminded that summer is officially coming to an end and while we haven’t done everything we set out to do this summer we’ve had some pretty special moments and are going to be making a few more before Monday and ever after…
What about you my lovelies? Any fond memories of back to school time for you and yours? For me it was always shopping for school supplies and picking out an outfit for the first day of school. Little Miss is all about her school supplies (although she’s still got a soft spot for Hello Kitty this year it was all about Paul Frank) and the new backpack her Nana got her. After two years rockin the butterflies she’s ready to get her sparkle on!
Our countdown to 2nd continues!!
p.s. This post really helped me put things back into perspective. “It’s not my job to try to keep them little. It’s my job to make sure they grow up. “ Greatest piece of mommy wisdom I’ve heard in a while. And while I’m almost certain I will cry on my way to my car after saying our first day goodbyes my tears will be happy. Happy happy tears.

Howdy would you mind letting me know which web
host you’re working with? I’ve loaded your blog in
3 different web browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot quicker
then most. Can you suggest a good web hosting provider at a fair price?
Kudos, I appreciate it!
