{Hers} What I’m Reading {DIY edition}

Finally.  It’s Friday and I haven’t been this happy about Friday since um last Friday.  I know I said I would share what has got me so excited about August this week but Monday through Thursday kicked my butt and so I’ve decided that I would much rather save the excitement for next week. 

Aside from the butt kicking, this week also opened my eyes up to a whole new world of bloggers and (drum roll please!!!) NICE PEOPLE!!!  Since the airing of our episode of Secrets From A Stylist last month(which you can now watch online here) and thanks to  the internet I’ve met some really nice folks and if you know me, you know that I am a n advocate for being nice and in all honesty wish more people would try it.

Then came the Pinterest Challenge which (again)opened my eyes up to a whole new world of people, people who do things theirselves and do them well a.k.a. DIY.  Not only did I have a lot of fun participating in this challenge myself which you can read about here but I also enjoyed meeting some really great people again via the internet (thanks internet!). 

So in celebration of nice people (that I met via the internet!) I decided I would end this particular week by introducing you to the authors of several blogs I am now reading and if you already know them already then consider this me just reiterating how lovely these ladies all are .  I’ll do my best to be brief that way you have time to click on over to their blogs and see for yourselves just what I am talking about:

Lana  of Making a House a Home - ia amazing.  She is as sweet as can be, hilarious, and genuinely kind.  She and her husband blog about their journey as homeowners as they make their house into a home and they are doing an amazing job! Have you seen their photos?! They also seem to find the best shopping deals and really make it a point to try to connect with their readers.

Ashley of Design Build Love  and her husband are newlyweds and ”designers/home-improvement-DIYers”.   Ashley and I also have the same sectional AND she uses a drill to take on DIY projects in her home which in my opinion is a pretty big deal.

Catherine of Bluenose Life is also a DIY gal and addicted to Pinterest (like so many of us). She shares some great ideas on her blog and she will try to make it before she buys it! She’s brave for that but it’s working for her as she is definitely good at what she does.

These ladies are doing major work in their homes and I applaud them for it!   Extra applause for finding the time to blog all about it!!

Julie of Less-Than-Perfect Life of Bliss is the woman behind the photo that I pinned as my inspiration for the Pinterest Challenge.  She decorates and crafts and does it herself! Yes that’s right she’s DIYer too and super sweet.

Jen of Made By Girl is a talented artist and writer of a lovely blog. Thanks to Emily we have one of her prints in our living room and LOVE love LOVE it!

Petra is a woman after my own heart as she is taking on organizing her closet and for many of us that is no easy feat.  She also knows great art when she sees it :)

Jackie of Pleasant In Home loves pretty things and she’s setting out to accomplish 30 things before she turns 30 which is pretty cool and exciting if you ask me. Love that idea!

I actually met Jessica of  Domesticty LA in June of this year via twitter.  She’s another creative one taking on DIY projects and food recipes and blogging about them.   

And because it only seems right to add one of my “real life” friends to the mix meet Maria.  She’s very open about her own experiences as a wife, mother, and friend.  She keeps it real and I love her for it. She’s inviting you to take a walk in her heels.  You should.  She also gets the award for most supportive friend ever as she often encourages me to keep blogging and for a long time was our only commenter aside from my mom :)
