As usual I’m “late to the party”. But in this case perhaps it’s a good thing considering I occasionally lack self-control in the food department. Last Friday The Mr., Little Miss, and I visited the city of Granada Hills knowing that the streets would be lined with these beauties:

{Chatsworth St., Granada Hills. Sorry the picture is blurry but it kind of works out for all those people in there who my not want their photo here.}
My biggest challenge that night? Making a decision. There were so many options and everyone’s food looked good. Everyone asks you what your eating, how it tastes, and rather than checking out the ladies and the fellas everyone is eyeing the food. Now that’s my kind of party.

{Happy pup. He must know about the fries….}

{Almost eaten Chili Cheese & Pastrami French Fries via Caridad Cuisine}

{New York Galbi. They’ve got tacos and other stuff}

{Who doesn’t love tacos?}
The Little Miss initially wanted a hot dog but decided on a burger. She was super duper hungry and unfortunately I didn’t get any pics of her good eats. A yummy burger accompanied by curly fries. I also enjoyed her selection as she remembered (in this case) ”sharing is caring”.

{Twist Burgers. So good you’ll want to do the twist.}

{Oh yes I did}
This week we also tried this truck. Nana and the Little Miss enjoyed these:

{greasy}
While I enjoyed these:

{Best. Sliders. Ever. And I don’t like onions but on these it made sense. And it was good. Really good.}
My love affair with the food truck began on Memorial day after becoming acquainted with the Kogi truck and having one of the goodest best (I know ”goodest” is not a word but I feel like in this case it should be) tacos I have ever eaten. For my the Mr. this was nothing new. He’s an early bird so while I’m always “late to the party” he’s right on time.
I now have an entire list (in my head) of food trucks that I am dying to try. But I must take it slow. I have to admit for the most part they are pretty pricey. Friday night we spent just as much as we would have if we went out to eat. Even so you are often getting to eat foods that you typically don’t find at a restaurant.
Tonight, and throughout the weekend, many food trucks will align line the streets of LA (County). Including this handsome truck (did you click the link?!) I literally can not wait to try it. I have heard this particular truck is all kinds of amazingness. I’m also on the lookout for a sweets truck. Just because I’m curious ok?
By the way we went vegan this week. For dessert. The Little Miss and I tried these two lovelies:

{Cookies & Cream and Strawberry}
Pretty and pretty tasty oh and much better for you. I think. They’re from Amanda’s Bakery & Cafe.
And there you have it. Our food truck adventures. It’s my night to cook and it’s looking like tonight’s forecast won’t include any food trucks but a girl can dream can’t she?
Oh and some tips for when you go truckin:
- Bring extra cash because right when it’s time to leave you will very likely give in to that urge to try one more thing
- Don’t get offended by the masses of people staring down your plate. They don’t want any beef. Actually they might but the edible kind. Besides they are probably just looking at your plate for some inspiration as to what they should get and believe me when I tell you that YOU WILL DO IT TOO.
- If everyone in your group tries something different you’ll leave having had a variety of foods
- wear spandex and a loose fitting top :)
Happy Friday! Be sure to eat something yummy today!!
